How Do I Make a Bord Gais Top Up?
There are several ways to complete your Bord Gáis top up depending on your meter type:

To make a Bord Gais top up online, you can choose between two primary digital platforms:
Your Online Bord Gáis Account: Best for registered customers.
Online Payzone Portal: Best for quick "guest" top-ups.
Online Bord Gáis Account
If you have a Bord Gáis login, you can manage your credit directly. To do so:
Sign in to your account.
Follow the "Top Up" prompts on your dashboard.
If you have a Smart Meter, your credit will be applied automatically.
You may be able to save your card details for more convenient future top-ups. Alternatively, you can use the Bord Gáis Energy Pay Now option. For this, you will need your Electricity account number and MPRN number.
Note: Ensure you select "Pay As You Go" or "Smart Pay As You Go electricity" as the account type.
Online Payzone Top Up
Bord Gáis Energy also utilizes a dedicated Payzone portal for quick payments. Visit the Bord Gais Payzone top up portal and provide:
Your PAYG meter number.
A valid email address (for your receipt and code).
Credit or debit card details.
Once processed, you will receive a 20-digit Power Code by email to manually enter into your meter keypad.
What Is My PAYG Meter Number?
This is the number on the front of your PAYG card. It typically starts with 63669810, followed by your unique identifier.
How Do I Make a Bord Gais Top Up By Phone?
You can top up your Bord Gáis Pay As You Go meter 24/7 by calling 01 611 01 08. You will need:
Your MPRN (for electricity) or GPRN (for gas).
Your Gas Card number (if applicable).
Your debit or credit card details.
While the automated phone top-up service is available 24/7, if you need to speak to a representative, the hours are:
Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Sunday: Closed
How Do I Make a Bord Gais Top Up at a Payzone Outlet?
You can make a Bord Gais top up in person at any Payzone outlet (found in most newsagents and petrol stations). You will need your prepayment card or your 16-digit PAN ID (found in your online account).
The minimum top-up amount is €10, and the maximum is €100. Always keep your receipt, as it contains your backup Power Code.
Applying Credit to Electricity Meters
If your meter does not update automatically, follow these steps:
Press the * button on the keypad until "KEYCODE" appears.
Enter your 20-digit Power Code.
Press the # button to confirm.
Applying Credit to Gas Meters
Gas top-ups must be done via your physical Gas Card at a Payzone outlet:
Insert the Gas Card (gold chip facing the display).
Press Button A to transfer the credit.
If the display says "OFF", hold Button A until it switches to "ON".
PAYG Emergency Credit
If your credit runs low, press "0" on your meter to access €20 emergency credit. This amount will be deducted from your next top-up.
Does Bord Gais Top Up Have Friendly Credit?
Yes, "Friendly Credit" ensures your power stays on during evenings, weekends, and holidays when shops might be closed. It is available for Smart PAYG customers during:
Mon–Thurs: 4 PM to 9 AM (5 PM to 10 AM in summer).
Weekends: From Friday 4 PM until Monday 9 AM.
Public Holidays: Including Christmas, New Year's, and St. Patrick's Day.

What Happens If I've Lost My Top-Up Card?
You can still top up online using your MPRN. To get a replacement card, contact Bord Gáis customer service or use your KPN number at a Payzone outlet.
Can I Set Up Scheduled PAYG Payments?
Yes, via your Payzone account. Under the 'My Meters' tab, select 'Scheduled Top Up' to choose a frequency and amount.
