Is There Eir Webmail Support?

Since there are still many customers who still use Eir Webmail, you can still find the Eir Webmail support on their website. Eir Webmail support provides tips and instructions on how to sort out your account if you’re having problems or if your Eir network is down.

What If I Can’t Log Into My Eir Webmail?

If you’re not having any luck with your Eir webmail login, you should check the following:

  • Clear cookies and cache on your browser
  • Make sure you’re spelling your password correctly
  • Leave out the @eircom.net part of your username

If you’re signing in to your Eir Webmail account from a different device, you might need to put in a 6-digit verification code to confirm it’s you trying to log in and not someone else. You will usually receive this code as an SMS. If you don’t receive it at first, be patient since there might be a lag!

What Is Eir Webmail?

Eir Webmail has been around for a while, ever since Eir was Eircom. Eir Webmail is an email service that was offered for free to Eir customers and Eir business customers if they wanted it.

It’s still quite common to see the odd @eircom.net email address around, but with the rise of Gmail and other email service providers, Eir Webmail is being eased out.

How Do I Sign Up to Eir Webmail?

Unfortunately, you can no longer sign up for Eir Webmail any more. From 1st July 2020, Eir started charging its Eir Webmail customers due to the unprofitable nature of running the service. Everyone who already has an Eir Webmail account can still access all their emails and information, albeit at a price now.

How Do I Set My Eir Webmail on My Phone with IMAP?

If you want to use your Eir webmail account on a device that isn't the Eir Webmail app or web account, you can set it up on your device using the server information provided by Eir webmail. It's a bit of a fiddly process, but all you need to do is head to your email app and make sure you're adding an external account:

SettingsIncomingOutgoing
Serverwebmail.eircom.netmail1.eircom.net
Port11025
SecurityNoneNone
UsernameYour usernameYour username
PasswordYour passwordYour password

Source: Eir

After doing this, you'll all be set up to send and receive emails to and from your phone and your chosen email app!

What is IMAP?

IMAP is a way to allow you to read your emails from any device you have. How it works is that it contacts the email server and allows you to see what's on there, so you can access all your messages. Unlike POP that downloads the emails, IMAP doesn't download them unless you open them, so it's usually a lot faster.

How Much Does Eir Webmail Cost?

Since it began, Eir Webmail was completely free and offered as an additional service to your normal Eir services like broadband or mobile contract.

However from 1 July 2020, as part of the general Eir price increases, Eir announced it would start charging Eir webmail users €5.99 a month for using the services. This was then put up again to €9.99 in 2021.

How Do I Pay for Eir Webmail?

Like your other Eir bills, you pay for Eir Webmail through your bank account on a rolling one-month basis. This means the money will be automatically taken from your account, so you don’t need to do anything else except to make sure your payment information is up-to-date. You can also see your previous payments as well.

How Can I Cancel Eir Webmail?

If you need to cancel your Eir Webmail account, you don’t need to do anything else but stop the monthly payments. After you’ve stopped paying, your Eir webmail account will be suspended and will continue to be accessible for 60 days when it will be deleted permanently.

Eir has also made it clear that you won’t be refunded for stopping in the middle of a month, but you will continue to have access to it.
